What we collect

• Delivery time and timezone — to send at your chosen hour.
• Payment information (premium only) — processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Email engagement data — opens and clicks, to improve the newsletter.

Why we process your data

• Contract performance — delivering the newsletter you signed up for.
• Legitimate interest — improving content quality and preventing abuse.
• Consent — you opt in by subscribing; you can withdraw any time.

Third-party services

We use the following processors, all with appropriate data-processing agreements:

• Supabase (EU region) — database and authentication.
• Resend — email delivery.
• Stripe — payment processing (premium subscriptions).
• Vercel — hosting.
• Anthropic — AI content generation (no personal data is sent; only news stories).

Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU-based company, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. You have the right to:

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised analytics may be retained longer.

We use only essential cookies for authentication (premium dashboard login). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Platypus is designed for adults aged 22–45. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the newsletter.
